Cybersecurity: Keeping Our Kids (and Ourselves) Safe Online

October 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Our children are digital natives who can navigate apps, games, social media, and online marketplaces with surprising skill. Sometimes that leads to unexpected adventures, like trying to sell the family house or believing they’re chatting with a celebrity. For children and teens with disabilities, the same trust, curiosity, and desire for connection that make the online world so valuable can also make them targets.

This practical webinar focuses on the risks our kids face today: scams aimed at young users, sextortion, cyberbullying, AI-generated fakes, and apps that collect more than they should. You’ll learn to spot warning signs, respond calmly when something goes wrong, and evaluate apps and their privacy disclosures. We’ll also cover the essentials for protecting the caregiver accounts that hold your child’s medical, school, and benefits information: strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and recognizing phishing and smishing
